Apple Crisp

I have taken this recipe from Cooking Pleasures magazine, August/ September 2005 issue.
I have tried it a while ago ...it was yummy and the aroma ... OMG!


Ingredients:


Topping:
1&1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
1&1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3/4 cup butter, cilled, cut up

Apples:
6 cups peeled chopped apples - (1// inch) (4 large apples)
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt

Filling:
1(8oz)pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons milk

Method:


  • Heat oven to 350 degrees F, in large bowl, stir together oatmeal, 1&1/3 cups flour, brown sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Press half the mixture into bottom of 13x9-inch glass baking dish; reserve remaining mixture for topping.

  • In large bowl, toss together all apple ingredients until apples are coated. spread over crust.

  • In large bowl, beat cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar at medium speed until smooth. Add aggs, 2 tablespoons flour and milk; beat until combined. Spread over apple mixture; sprinkle with reserved oatmeal mixture.

  • Bake 40-45 minutes or until gloden brown and apples are tender. Cool on wire rack.
